Therapy can be a powerful place to learn about yourself and the unhelpful patterns that are keeping you stuck. More importantly, it’s a place to learn skills and acquire tools to be able to manage your life and see the change you are looking for.

The majority of clients I see struggle with balancing a demanding job, a commute, maintaining a household, managing relationships and being a parent or they are young adults dealing with the pressures of school and peer groups. Both types of clients often present with symptoms of anxiety, depression, panic and burn out.

Drawing from therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Dialectical Therapy, my goal is to help clients learn new and effective ways of coping that will help with these challenges.

As a mother myself to young children, I also have a keen interest in helping new mothers with their mental health. Working in collaboration with our Naturopathic Doctors, we can help whether you’re just finding it challenging to adapt to your new role as mom or you’re having more serious issues with your mood due to Post-Partum depression & anxiety.

I love working at Restore because I’m a big believer in the mind-body connection and having the opportunity to collaborate with other practitioners is the key to integrative care.

Jen is an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner who attended the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy in Hamilton, ON. She completed an extensive 4 year program and earned her Masters of Osteopathic Manipulative Sciences (M.OMSc.) in October of 2019. She is a member of the Ontario Osteopathic Association (OOA) which is committed to rigorous professional standards and is recognized by the Canadian insurance industry.

Jen’s training was rooted in the treatment principles of Classical Osteopathy which included 1000 hours of supervised clinical training. As a former certified personal trainer, school teacher and NCAA university hockey player, she has a deeply rooted passion for educating and helping others feel more in control of living a healthy & well balanced life.

Jen is best described as a body mechanic who focuses on finding health of the individual, rather than disease. Her goal is to help you move better and function optimally, which means almost everyone can benefit from treatment !Her treatments consist of gentle manipulations to realign your body back to its original state. In order for the body to function well, there must be movement in all of its joints and tissues. Functional changes can happen when movement is lost, and this can lead to pain or other changes in how your body works. Every treatment consists of a whole body assessment because symptoms such as pain may show up in one area of the body, however the cause may come from somewhere else. She looks for restrictions in the anatomy and encourages movement in order to better ensure proper nutrients can enter the body & unwanted wastes can leave. Benefits of treatment can include but are not limited to:

  • Decreased chronic/acute pain ( Including headaches/migraines, nerve pain, back/shoulders/neck/hips/elbows/knees, wrists/ankles etc. )

  • Improved biological functions ( Digestion, elimination, urination, circulation, menstruation, breathing, sleep, reproduction, etc.).

  • Decreased general stress, anxiety etc. Improved range of motion/mobility & stability of joints & ligaments ( Decreasing potential for injury and/or pain).

  • Decreased muscle tension Improvement of overall posture and movement mechanics.

Outside of her clinic, Jen enjoys playing hockey, cycling, rock climbing and spending time with her family & friends!
